Saturday July 5th-memories

Jay tells the kids stories often at bedtime of his life in Colorado, and growing up. He tells stories of he and his brothers, and lots of Steve and Jay stories (his best friend growing up.)
Today after our family photos we got to drive around and have Jay point out his world to us.

Seeing all the places that go along with all the stories.
The neighborhood where all the stories come from.
These were things that Jay pointed out as we were driving around.

Jay's first home.
Sitting on that rock waiting to find out what baby the Clawson's had.
Riding go carts around the circle as fast as they could.
The house where Jay killed the neighbors dog in the garage door. (total accident)
The names of all the families in the neighborhood.
The house that Jay grew up in.

The spot where Jay and Paul lit the field on fire.
The route that Steve drove backwards all the way from jays house, down the street to steve's.

The ditch where Steve & Jay buried a box of treasure then tried and tried to find it again, unsuccessfully.

The ARBY"S where (although I did not know it at the time) I impressed Jay by ordering a large strawberry shake and drinking the whole thing.
He knew I was real and being me, that I did not just order a small little shake.

The Spear Engineering plant, (the family's old business- it was sold and the Spear name was kept)
where we had one of our first dates.
I had a picnic planed, soup, hot rolls, butter, and honey in a cute
little pot. And it started raining so we met up at the plant, and sat
at a metal table during the down pour.
