Since last weekend I have been consumed with thoughts about this family.
About her, about her husband and their children.
I can't stop thinking about it. I don't know her, I have never met her.
But, I had read a little on her blog, and some on her sisters blog.
She seems like somebody I would want to be friends with.
I have read all over the place about the incredible auctions that are going on today to benefit her and her family.
I wanted to do something.
But what to do.
I woke up this morning knowing what I could do.
I can cook.
I can give food away.
I would feel funny trying to auction off my food.
So instead of bidding- do something for someone else. Maybe that will lighten someone's load, who will in turn lighten somebody else's load, and you never know, that person may lighten the load of somebody who is helping this family right now.
Comment- let me know that you plan on helping someone.
Think about it, pray about it.
Find somebody that needs something that you can do.
Don't let thoughts of what you can't do keep you from doing something.
You can do something.
I will pick 2 random winners for dinner. Probably this-
And if you live far away-hmmm say farther than 30 minutes from me- I will have to come up with something else for you!
(this contest closes on sunday night August 31)

I guess I have a hard time thinking that the little things I do are very note worthy. They are the same things anyone else would do.
I have quite a bit of food storage and I took a car load to a family who could really use it right now. I matched up a sister at church with a temporary money making opportunity. Both were just opportunities that came my way. I really need to work on looking for people & ways to help others.
Sorry! I just figured that I am too far away. :) Hmmm...maybe you could come make me lunch today!! heehee
These past few weeks, I have been helping a friend who had surgery and can't lift her baby. I have taken her kids several times and coordinated the rest of her care, meals, etc. It is nothing that hasn't been done for me (more than once, I might add).
It really hasn't been a big deal for me, but I know that she appreciates it.
I did it! And it does feel good to help even if it is a little thing
Well, I totally do not expect dinner, but I'll comment on what I plan to do. I haven't really made any new friends here yet, but I do know the neighbors and their little girl, who gets home before her patents. I'm going to talk with the parents and see if she can come over for snack after school, because some days a kid just needs an adult to talk to right after school while everything is still fresh, at least I did.
I am all about giving away food!! That is one of my favorite things to do myself!
I actually expect you to deliver dinner to my door! (Ha!) Of course, I'm just desperate for a way to get you to Utah!
I was just sooooo inspired at Education Week at BYU (did I ever tell you that I went the whole week?...it was amazing!) by a speaker named Rebecca Douglas who started a charity that helps people in India who have leprosy (and their children). I was so moved by her presentation... I couldn't stop crying as I walked to my next class! Her charity is Rising Star Outreach (risingstaroutreach.org) and we have talked to our kids about what we can go without so that we can afford to sponsor a child through this amazing charity. So now all our kids are drinking powdered milk to try to save money...they are so sweet. (I personally could NEVER give up my milk!)
