last day of school

Well- that was a long break. A little longer than I intended it to be. I had a bunch of posts and thoughts but forgot to put them on auto post. School starts Friday and I have this feeling that I need to get all the summer wrapped up and written about before its gone, but I never even posted about the last day of school.
So before I post this Friday about the first day of school, today I will post the last day of school May 2010- nevermind that I think my kids look different now.

After school we came home and enjoyed rootbeer floats and filled out the last day of school sheets.
The floats were the bribe to get the kids motivated to finish my questions!
Here are a few snippets from the kids questions:

Luke
My favorite class: art
One thing I am looking forward to this summer: Going to Lego Land. (? So sorry to disappoint you!)
My favorite part of school this year: Art.
When I grow up I want to be ... an oceanographer. (the first day of school he said he wanted to be a marine photographer)
Savanna
My favorite class this year: Show Choir
One thing I am looking forward to this summer: POOL! Cooking club.
My favorite part of school was: Recess in the bathroom. (?huh?)
When I grow up I want to be ... a music teacher. (the first day of school she said she wanted to be a college graduate.)
Tucker
(forget any question I might have asked- he just told me what he wanted to say.)
I want to have a bulldozer and a firetruck. Mrs. Brenda gave me chips. When I grow up I want to be like Collin and drive a truck.

Jack
My favorite class this year ... science.
One thing I am looking forward to this summer: Swimming.
My favorite part of school was: everything.
When I grow up I want to be: ? (The last day of school he said he wanted to do something awesome.)

And just for fun this photo. Last fall I helped with Red Ribbon week. The kids stayed after school one day last October and helped me hang up banners, and pennants, and ribbons. This little ribbon was hung by Tucker and Luke. Just kind of haphazardly stuck below a big bulletin board. When Red Ribbon week was finished everything came down. But this one little ribbon stayed. Not sure why. But it did. Until the very last day of school. Everytime I saw it, I would chuckle and remember the kids "helping" me. I think it would be really funny if it is still hanging there when we go back.

Your kids are so darn cute. What a good idea to write their ideas down. I wish I'd have done that.
