spt-Easter Egg Hunt

Lelly's challenge this week is..

"while the kiddos are hunting eggs, take a moment to hunt for something *eggs*tra special about your weekend."It did not take me longer than a second to know what I wanted to photograph for this weeks SPT- my only question was..."did Jay use "eggshell" paint?"

YES!

I was out of town for spring break..and Jay took the opportunity of having all the littles gone and painted our entryway.

Anybody that has been to our home knows this was "extra" special- We have lived in this home for 3 years in January- We have a 2 story entry, and have taken down rock paneling,

textured over flocked wallpaper,
but have never painted.

And as of this weekend...we are more than well on our way to having the entryway finished!

Thanks so much Jay! I love the warm blanketing feeling the entryway gives! I am excited to decorate it with you!
(photos of finished projects coming soon-)

That is so beautiful! I love your entry way... What a great Spt. ( How do you make the SPT look so creative?

thanks Bren-
I have a very patient husband who walks me through creating things that are in my mind- and we use adobe photoshop-I then change the colors-
(and even that takes my very patient husband to walk me through it)

Great, creative SPT! I can't believe how much work you've had to put into that entryway (rock paneling?!?). Love the paint.

Rock paneling...wow...sounds like quite an undertaking...but the outcome so far is beautiful. Your entry looks very warm and inviting!

You clever thing--love the eggshell tie-in!!

Y'all have been quite the busy little bees with all of the changes. Your entry way is beautiful--you should be proud of your hard work.

Is that a texture on the wall with the stairs? It looks like a pattern, or is it faux-finish? Well, it's PRETTY!

I love your new entry way. The beginnings looked a little scary. It looks awesome now! What a wonderful Easter present!

Thanks Holly- the pattern on the wall is just the way my husband textured the walls- its just plain egg shell paint, no faux finish-

This looks awesome. What a satisfying project to complete too- anything home improvement wise is always so satisfying to see after the work is done, especially if it has taken years!

Hey that was pretty cool of him to do! I take it you guys live in an older house? And how did that rock panelling work? Was it over the flocked wallpaper? Sorry for the obnoxious questions... I just like to know things like that and add it to my long list of dumb and arcane factoids!

Wow! What a wonderful thing to have close-up around Easter and into spring! That looks like it was a lot of hard work, I'm sure it's nice to see things finished. Very beautiful! Thanks for your comments and great job Alisa!

Warren, Yes we live in a older home. It was built in the 60's. It is a good home, its a happy home. But it did need some updating.
The rock paneling was over the flocked wallpaper. I think they did that so they would not have to deal with the flocked wallpaper being directly on the drywall-
