what to eat wednesday-popcorn


Popcorn- Love to eat this with our friends the Ryans-
and since we are in TX- I thought I would feature this today. I had never had pepper on my popcorn until I had it with them! I love it, although I don't think the rest of my family does. I know that 1 of the kids will eat it with me....can't remember which one!
So
Donna's instructions for the popcorn is this:

Popcorn kernals keep best in the freezer.
It will not pop well after being exposed to air for too long.

Salt & Pepper popcorn

Pop popcorn in about 1/3 cup oil-make sure you have enough oil to pop it.
Then immediately after popping, butter and salt and pepper. Taste and add more if needed.

Now for the Sugar Popcorn (kettle corn)

Add a TB or a little more to the 1/3 cup oil and stir before adding kernals. Pop the corn and salt immediately afterward.

I never thought of pepper on popcorn.. Ok- am I missing something? Is popcorn big in Texas? Do you not eat it where you are from? Just wondering!

update about the popcorn
Yes, we have popcorn here in OK- and I don't think that popcorn is any bigger deal in TX than someplace else.
Our friends that we were visiting always have popcorn on sundays for dinner- they make all different kinds. Whenever we visit them I have to have 3 things-
soda
popcorn
salad

So I decided to highlight the popcorn...I love the salt and pepper one..my kids don't though.
