What to Eat Wednesday

I could not believe it when I was lucky enough to get this recipe. A friend I go to church with has guarded this recipe for over 25 years. When we came back to Oklahoma she gave me a bag of these yummy nuts at Christmas. They tasted better than any of the nuts I had eaten at the mall, or fair. I asked for the recipe and was shocked when she would not share it. I had heard of others not giving away recipes but had never actually encountered somebody who would not share. This was about 4 years ago.
And this fall she gave in.
She shared it.
And it is so easy-and so yummy. You know if you just will exercise a little self control and use moderation it would be OK to make them now- It really won't mess up your New Year's dieting!

look how simple the ingredients are!

Londa's Sugar Nuts

3 cups Pecans
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

Combine all in skillet. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Continue flipping over and over with a turner so as not to break the nuts. Continue this until all the water is gone and the nuts are coated. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes. Spread on a buttered cookie sheet and dry in oven on 200 for 15-30 minutes.

Those look so yummy...my problem is, once I have something like that in my house...there is NO moderation until they are devoured!

just noticed the curious string around superman's waist. I have nothing really to say about it, but it certainly is curious. :) ha ha ha
