a little FYI

It may never be appropriate to ask a woman if she is pregnant.
Even if she looks as though she is.
Even if you think her clothes look like "cute maternity clothes."
Because there is nothing worse than being on either side of this question and having the answer be "no."

That is all.

Unless she is reclined on a table, knees apart, panting, and you SEE THE BABY'S HEAD COMING OUT OF HER BODY ---- do not ask.

My favorite Comedian does a whole routine about that-- you'll have to get Jenna to perform it for you. This is one reason I hate the styles today. LYMI

I've found (with lots of trial and error) that you say "when are you going to have another baby?" It only works if you know that person.

I'm sorry! I'm sure a lot of ppl think I am pregnant with my big ole fat stomach.. But most know that I have never been before so why now?
I did make the mistake of asking someone once. I swear the way she was standing & resting her arms on her stomach it looked like she was 6 months pregnant.. It was round & hard looking, not fat looking. Boy I felt so stupid & small & plan retarded..

Ugh. I've seen that scenario happen right before my eyes in the checkout line at walmart. It was not good. I just stood there silently thinking, 'no,no,no,don't ask her that!!!' ;(

Gah!

About a week after my son was born, I was out in public and ran in to a guy I went to high school with. His wife was standing right there too. He said "You sure have gained a lot of weight!". I said, "Well, I just gave birth to a 10 pound baby 2 weeks ago. Nice to see you." And I walked away. I heard his wife lecturing him.

He has apologized every time I run into him since then. I'm sure his wife has something to do with that.

Either way - preg or not - don't say anything is the best policy.

I LOVE IT! Can we have it announced from the pulpit too?
