Memories

I got this from Sandi who left the hilarious comment about sense of smell in my last post.
Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Alisa, I don't always comment, but I do read your blog quite often. The thing I always remember about you is that your family pictures look like the men didn't have anything to do with bringing children into your family tree. It looks like your mother or maybe your grandmother got a rubber stamp and just stamped you all out so you all look alike. Beautiful smile, great eyes, same body shape. It's fantastic.

My favorite memory is a recent one (yes, I know we haven't known each other long!) - coming to your home for TOFW! It was so great to be there. You all just made me feel so welcome! I had so much fun spending time with you and getting to know you better.

I remember when we made rolls together. We had two breadmakers going and it seemed like kids everywhere. Back then, with just Fuller, I didn't know the meaning of kids everywhere. I remeber how great it was to meet you at the park during piano lessons, sit on the blankets and enjoy the sunshine.

I remember the kids play in the play area right next to my townhouse and us just sitting and visiting. Savanna was pretending some elaborate make believe and Jack had on those little yellow rain boots that he loved. I also remember you making the neighbors dinner just because you had extra turkey. You are great. Hillary Smith

Alisa--couldn't decide what memory to type up...maybe something about our mutual admiration of Jacob (who played Gideon) HaHa...I mostly remember all those days I would drop Brooklyn off at school and bring my laundry and scrapbooking tote to your house. And I would stay ALL day until the very minute I had to go pick her up. I miss that so much. YOU REALLY JUST NEED TO MOVE BACK HERE!!!

One memory that sticks out when I think of you is that one night, when I had had a trying day with a sick little boy, you said, "I'm making chicken divane for dinner. Just bring me a pan over and I'll make you one too". So, I brought a pan over and you built me a chiken divane, covered it in foil and wrote on the top what temp to cook it at and for how long. From that, two things happened: 1) I had a new appreication for service, because it was SO GREAT to have a yummy, warm dinner on the table that evening after a hectic day and 2) I realized that it was something I could do for people and I quite often will offer to my neighbors and friends, who have more hectic lives than me, to just whip them up a dinner! That little experience helped me to learn about accepting and giving service. Betcha didn't know...:)

Okay...there are so many. But the first impression with you was so accurate! You were so welcoming when we first visited OK. You had the girls and I over to your mom's house and fed us and let us play, etc.....and I remember thinking how easy it was for you to just DO it and not worry about it not being convenient for you. It meant so much at that time. The neverending list of things that I've learned from you will have to be written down another time!

So I've been trying to just come up with one memory but I just can't seem to. The thing that sticks out the most in my head is the fact that I could always call you with any question. Primary, nursing, baby.... any question at all and you wouldn't mind answering it and you never made me feel silly for having such a question. Thanks for always being a happy, welcoming voice at the other end of the line.

Meghan- My memory that I thought of was the same as yours-making yummy bread and rolls, and being so thankful that you would come show me.
The other is sitting in a sunday class and seeing you and Jon sign. Jay and I looked at each other and said, "of course they can sign, is there anything that they can't do!"

Hilary-
I have fun memories of your cute home, and how much cuter yours was than mine, even though they were the exact same, except yours was flipped the opposite direction.
I remember you doing cute cute things with pedicures, and I have fun memories of playing Pente with Max!
