Good-bye Mr. Stinky- or No more class pets

We have hosted about 4 class pets this school year. We have had 2 snakes and a guinnie pig. And now I can say we have had the class crawdad.
And I think I am done.
Over Christmas break we got to have snipper, or maybe it was snapper come to stay with us.
For two weeks.
He stunk.
Like truly smelled.
He did not at first.
But after Jack fed him a human's portion of lunch meat and the little critter did not eat it, the smell came. And it lingered. And we could no longer keep it inside. I don't think I can adequately describe the stench. But for a person with a sensitive nose, it was just too much for me to handle.
So we took the little crawdad back up to the school today.
And I am done.
No more.

AHHH!! I don't even eat the critters!

I never did get the pleasure of hosting a class pet; however, because of their dad's unique employment at the time, and his upbringing, we did have- not all at the same time, but several at a time:

an opossum, tarantulas, various asundry of lizards, salamander, chickens, prairie dog, rabbits, birds (not the pet shop variety), cats, turtles, mice and crickets (to feed others), snakes (when living at grandparents) and I can't remember off the top of my head what else- WAIT!!! How could I forget- pet roaches. Ugh!

And I was raised w/ a great fear of animals, so, yet again, the universe had a great laugh while I learned to conquer my fears.

And, yes, several of them stunk.
