Tucker Week- It keeps going ...

This summer we cleaned out the toys and boxed a bunch up. They have been waiting in the garage to put in the attic, to sell, or to donate. Tucker was pretty much done with all of them. Didn't blink an eye when he helped me move them to the garage.

I think that when the older kids are around he wants to play with them, and do what they do.
But after school started, he re-discovered his old friends.

We found batteries and his re-discovered friends literally came to life!

Nan taught Tucker the difference between a Phillips and a Flathead screwdriver. Now Tucker feels like it is his responsibility to find the right screwdriver and unscrew the screws for me. (to everything.)

Tucker has spent many a day after school with the trains, rescue heroes, cars, & Lincoln Logs. All things he thought he was done playing with.

And replacing the batteries in everything he can unscrew.

Tucker Week- a boy and a big box

He wanted someone to play outside with him so bad. He had nobody to play with. It is hard to be left at home when all of your brothers and sister get to go to school all day.
So outside we went to the big big oven box. I wrote letters and he circled them. We colored and traced. We lay down on the grass and talked. He made me laugh. He was happy. And so was I.

Tucker Week- what to take on a quick trip

I am going to take a few weeks to highlight each of the kids. Believe me there are plenty of things that I could blog about that are negative, and I could vent all the annoying things. It is not my point to only portray our life like a glossy magazine. It is not. There are frustrations, tears, arguments, struggles, self-doubt. Pretty much a normal family life. But if I don't focus on the positive ... who will? Plus there are some pretty funny things that the younger kids do- and some sweet things from the older ones that I don't want to forget.
First up ...

Tucker week!

I needed to make a quick trip to the store and called out to Tuck to get in the car. He hollered out "just a minute- can I take something?"

Sure- why not.

Because you never know when you are going to need a nebulizer box filled with a mini light saber, a pocket websters dictionary, and a plastic boulder.

With a pillow towel slung over you shoulder for that quick nap out in the sun.

Tucker Week- animal parade

Tucker week!

He called out "Hey -mom, come see what I made!"

"An animal parade."
