Overheard

Snippets from life:

Wow! My lettuce looks like the shape of Africa.

Why don 't I get an M&M when I use the bathroom?

Oh look at those dog's, I want one of those. Look at that one climbing on the other dog's back. They are funny. I want one. (from the one who is terrified of dogs)

I am not going to school. I am not getting out of the car. (spoken by the one you would least expect to hear that from)

I don't want my apple all musty and wobbly.

What kind of Mom feeds their kids only a banana?

If there is anything I don't like, it is you being rude to me. (From one of my kids to me.)

Oh those dogs are funny to my eyes.

If we don't blow out that candle I am going to have to go stay in a hotel.

thoughts about cereal

Its been a long time since I have bought Grape-nuts.
Probably at least a year. It was before Luke could read.

I bought a family size box on Saturday. Luke and Tucker wanted to try it warm with milk and honey. So I heated it up for them and Luke said, as he read the box ...

"I always thought these were called "great- nuts."

A family size box, sure does not last long. We finished it this morning. I can remember a time when it would last for at least a month. It lasted 5 days. We put it on yogurt. We ate it cold. We ate it hot. Our family sure likes grape nuts quite a lot...

Overheard-isn't it obvious?

It's dark, we are taking her temperature. The whole house is asleep.
Savanna asks what time it is. I told her I was not sure. She says I'll check. She fumbles around in the dark. Then announces, "it's 4:44-in the morning."

Um, thanks. I was not sure weather it was the middle of the night or the middle of the afternoon.

Overheard

I overheard Luke in the bathroom complaining about the mess of toothpaste:
"I can't get the toothpaste out- all there is a big "snowman pile" of toothpaste that won't come out!"

overheard

While driving looking at Christmas lights the kids were picking out their home of choice. They were all much bigger than our home and the lights seemed to make them very enticing.
We came upon one where everyone agreed in unison that "THAT HOUSE" is the one to have. Then Luke said "I want that one too, unless my job is to dust. And that would just take too long."

Overheard

Today while in the grocery store Tucker spied the Nestle Quick chocolate milk bunny.
I wish I could have recorded his cute telegraph sounding voice saying:
choc. mik. dad.

Can you guess who is the chocolate milk drinker and maker in our home?

Overheard

From Jack to Savanna with mom's commentary

"These shoes don't fit me." as he takes off mom's shoes.

"They fit me perfect!" she says. (in the background mom says "No they don't.")

"Yea, there is no way those fit you -those shoes are the size of King-Kong!"

Thanks a lot Jack.

Overheard

9:45 P.M.
Luke not wanting to go to bed
(a very late night last week for the family from shoe shopping, and we put the kids to bed instead of having them clean up first ... )
"Mom, let me help you clean up this mess."
"No, that's alright, you just go on back to bed."
"No, please let me help. It will be much easier."

"Oh! Alright, if you say so."

Overheard

Tonight after we had gone swimming, Savanna leaned into me for a hug and said ... "mmm, you smell good, like sunscreen."
Luke came over for hug too, and said "hmm, I think you smell like tater tots and chicken nuggets."
Then said "I love you momma hedgehog."

Overheard

After Luke had spent the day with my mom- he said "hey mom there is something we need to get"
and then launched into this-

Aqua Globes

"all you do is fill it up with water
and press it into the soil
its that easy, it waters your plants for you.
There is red and blue, and green and multi color.
Call now and you'll get four!"

So how can I put this memorization to good use ...
