Creepy Crawly Contest Winner!

The creepy crawly we saw and caught and then let go back out into the backyard, (I KNOW!) was indeed a Oklahoma Brown Tarantula. Randy was spot on-

I decided to do two winners. I took the total number of comment's and drew for the winner. SO-

And the winner for guessing Tarantula was:

Amy!

Now for a little odd tidbit of info- why I spelled Tarantula "tarantella."
When I was younger I took piano lessons. There was a song called "tarantella" and I remember there being a picture of a bunch of dancers on it. I wondered at the time if there was a spider (the "tarantella!") scaring all the dancers. In all my young wisdom I figured where else would they have come up with a spiders name to title the song!
I will come back tonight and tell you why. Very silly reason.

Creepy Crawly Contest

A few weeks ago Jack looked out the window and said-"Wow! There is a big spider walking on top of the grass."
My thoughts? That is sure a weird way to say you saw a spider, and it must be pretty big for it to be "walking on top of the grass."
Soon shrieks and squeals from the rest of the kids brought me to the window to indeed see a "big spider walking on top of the grass."

Luke was certain that it was a giant wolf spider, but I thought maybe a tarantella?

Whatever it was- it was HUGE! I have never seen a spider that big around my house.
We caught it and brought it home so that as soon as Jay got home he could check it out with our friend google.

What do you think it was?

I am in the mood for a little contest. So what do you think? What is your best guess?

Pay it Forward give away-Oh what do you do in the summertime?

I won a little contest here last month. She won something off of someone else's blog, who won something from somebody else's blog ... (see the cycle?)
When we got back from our trip I had a fun package waiting for me.I love the personalized stationary set that she gave me.

And I am now ready to do my give away!

I have already picked 2 random winners, and will pick 2 more. (OK, they are not so random- my mom and my mother-in-law, but I really wanted to give them each one!

Here are the rules:

1- If you would like to participate but can’t pay it forward if you win-please enter anyway!

2-Even if you live far away, I will send it. But I will only have US flags in them. (sorry!)

3-To enter yourself in the Pay it Forward giveaway, simply leave a comment on this blog post.
But here is the fun part:
I have always loved the song that I sang in primary at church as a kid:
"Oh what do you do in the summertime?"
In your comment, you've got to tell me (and my blog readers) about your favorite thing to do in the summer.

Maybe it is something that you used to do, and have not done in a long time.
Maybe it is something that means "summer" to you- it just would not be summer without it.
Or maybe it is something that you have always wanted to do.
Maybe it is just something that sounds wonderful and you might now try it after writing it down.

Whatever it is let me know. I can't wait to send these out- I have them finished and ready to mail!
(I would not let myself do the contest until they were ready!)

OK- you have through Tuesday the 24th to enter- I will pick on Wednesday morning!
Thanks for playing- I am excited to see what everyone loves to do in the summer time!

Oh what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you fish in the stream, or lazily dream on the banks as the clouds go by?
Is that what you do? So do I!

Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you swim in a pool, to keep yourself cool, or swing in a tree up high?
Is that what you do? So do I!

Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you march in parades, or drink lemonades, or count all the stars in the sky?
Is that what you do? So do I!
